Exhibitions

The FOTOGALERIE WIEN currently exhibits seven shows a year including: one Werkschau, one Solo, three exhibitions dedicated to an annual theme of focus, and two other exhibitions curated independent of the theme of focus and Werkschau

Theme of Focus: exhibitions dedicated to a specific topic in photography, takes place throughout the year, includes one catalogue compiling the artists’ contributions and summarizing the exhibitions at the end of the year

Solo: This series of exhibitions is to serve as a platform and springboard to artists who are at the beginning of their career, once a year

Werkschau: a retrospective for a well-known Austrian photography artist,once a year, accompanied by a catalogue

Exchange exhibition (dedicated to the annual with galleries abroad)

  PROPELLER IV – Art students in Austria

  18. March 2025 — 26. April 2025

  PROPELLER IV, show an extremely wide variety of materials and forms of presentation. Photography and video are placed in installative, sculptural, painterly and publicist contexts, thus expanding their form and content. Thematically, there is a clear shift towards an examination of identity, the search for refuge, security and the longing for poetry.
